  • 🇯🇵🏂 DAY 7 + 8!! Just spent two days snowboarding in Niseko, arguably the best resort in Hokkaido in terms of snow quality and terrain. It’s popular for a reason! We loved it here last year and this time was no different, except now we could focus our energy in our favourite areas of the @nisekounited group of resorts: Hanazono and Hirafu. Truly magical powder skiing and tree runs ✨ Gonna be sad to leave tomorrow but we’ve got so many more resorts (old and new) to check out.   • ❄️🚗🇯🇵 DAY 6!!! Can’t believe I’ve made it this far Today we packed up and headed to Niseko. The drive is normally 1.5 hours but since we’re being extra careful (cos of the skidding accident the other day) we took an extra 10 minutes 😃 It was also our 3rd day on the slopes - back at Asarigawa Ski Resort again due to goooood snowfall 😎 Caught @georgina.ventures in Kutchan for dinner at a specialty udon restaurant. Always nice to bump into friends in different parts of the world. I’m exhausted but super excited for Niseko - the terrain is just unbeatable.   • ❄️🚗🇯🇵🏂 DAY 5!! Did our second snowboarding day today. Kiroro (the most popular pick) was too windy and some of the lifts were shut so we opted for a more local ski resort only 20 minutes by car from Otaru: Asarigawa Onsen Ski Resort, which is in a more protected area. It started out a little sunny and icy but it soon started dumping down snow.. so good!! It is a small resort with only four open chairlifts, but it has some nice powder / tree run areas. We got a four-hour lift pass for JPY4900 (about €27). Dinner was deeelicious toripaitan ramen (chicken broth ramen) at a specialty ramen shop just outside of Otaru. As I write this, data reception is bad so I’m not sure when I’ll be able to upload the post! But I’m proud of myself for getting this far and also thanks so much for all your support 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 #japanroadtrip #skijapan #asarigawaonsen #japantravels
  • ❄️🚗 DAY 4 of our snowboarding road trip across Hokkaido + Honshu in Japan! We took a rest day to recover and also to deal with some admin and emails. I’m not ashamed to say I stayed in the room until 2pm! It’s simply not realistic to be out and about every day for a month.. One of the things we had to deal with was the car accident from last night. The police were cute and Ricardo got to ride in their car for a few minutes 🤣 OOH and we booked flights to Beijing in March for two weeks! Will be asking for recs soon we’ve never been. ANYWAY! Took a nice walk around Otaru in the late afternoon. Felt pretty relaxed as it isn’t our first time here. It’s a really pretty city even though it’s very crowded with tourists - thanks to the movie ‘Love Letter’ (1996) which was filmed here. Had an early dinner at my fav soba place - YABUHAN SOBA. Did you know what the water used to boil the noodles in, ‘soba-yu’, is full of good nutrients and antioxidants? We’re served a pot of it at the end of the meal. I gulped it all down 🥹 Really surprised and proud of myself that I’ve got 4 days / posts down now.   • ❄️🇯🇵 DAY 3 of our 1-month snowboarding/winter road trip across Japan [Hokkaido + Honshu]! After a full night’s sleep (I could’ve slept longer tho) we decided it was time to get to work. Meaning get our shit together (attach bindings, adjust boots etc) and GET OURSELVES TO A MOUNTAIN! First stop: Kiroro Ski Resort! @kirororesort The biggest one in this area and a 40 minute drive from Otaru. Also the place where we lost our Insta360 camera last year 🫣 Had a fantastic time on the slopes despite the tree runs being closed (apparently due to lack of snow accumulation in those areas). Well Kiroro must be kinda jinxed for us because on the way down we got into a minor accident with the car 🥹 SO disappointed in those snow tyres 😂😂😂 Stopped by the local supermarket for snacks and also picked up collagen powder, protein powder, and magnesium supplements 🤓 By the time we got back to the hotel we were smashed. Great day 9/10 (minus 1 cos of the accident) #japanski #japanroadtrip #skijapan #kiroro
  • ❄️🇯🇵 DAY 2 of our snowboarding road trip across Japan [Hokkaido + Honshu]! To our delight we arrived to so much snow! First thing on the agenda was to collect our car. We rented Toyota Roomy like before. This time we paid around €65 a day with full insurance. All winter rentals in Hokkaido come with snow tyres and that’s really all you need. Driving is pretty easy / straightforward. Made two stops: - Uniqlo for some essential winter items - A cute cafe at a park for breakfast and soup curry >> I must tell you that the best soup curry is at SOUP CURRY SYABAZO in Sapporo - save this info! Order the lamb broth curry! Then there was a snowstorm - it was dumping! This made our journey to Otaru (our first stop) take much longer due to unexpected road closures. It was kinda exciting if not for how exhausted I was 🤪 Once we got to our hotel we soaked at the onsen and passed out for 3 hours! So we missed dinner time and had a konbini food instead 🥹 Overall a great day - stay tuned for DAY 3 tomorrow!! #japanroadtrip #japanwinter #japantravels
  • ❄️ 🚗 🇯🇵 🏂 Super excited to be starting our month-long snowboarding road trip across Hokkaido and Honshu (Tohoku and Niigata/Nagano)! Last year we did the whole month in Hokkaido so this time it’ll be interesting to see some new resorts / explore a little more of Japan in winter. DAY 1 was our travel day! After a good three weeks in Malaysia catching up with friends, family, & food we flew @ana.japan to Tokyo and spent the night at Haneda before an inhumanely early connection to Chitose at 6am. It was funny how close to the check-in counters our hotel was though (see video) 😮‍💨 I consider this also Day 1 of me practising not overthinking / posting whatever I want; little visual diaries like it’s 2012. I thought that since I no longer depend on social media for income it would be easy but I feel like I’ve had a traumatic relationship with this app that still needs healing 🙃 So yeah anyway I’m going to be doing low-effort daily/almost daily dumps on here and on stories over the next 4 weeks just cos I want to. If you’re reading this and you know me personally PLS REMIND ME I need all the motivation I can get 😂 PS How cute is our lilac snowboard bag? €60 from Taobao - a steal!   • Spending Xmas week in the Italian Dolomites - our 4th time there - never gets old!! ❄️✨🎄 The most incredible landscapes, the best food, and sometimes cheesy but always fun après-ski parties. Vibrant pink and orange sunsets while gliding on the slopes. Having a Bombardino with friends on the way down. Having dinner at a warm and cosy ‘rifugio’ that’s only accessible by snowmobile. The whole experience is just magical! We love staying around Madonna Di Campiglio or Marilleva in the Trentino region 🙂

❄️🚗 DAY 4 of our snowboarding road trip across Hokkaido + Honshu in Japan! We took a rest day to recover and also to deal with some admin and emails. I’m not ashamed to say I stayed in the room until 2pm! It’s simply not realistic to be out and about every day for a month.. One of the things we had to deal with was the car accident from last night. The police were cute and Ricardo got to ride in their car for a few minutes 🤣 OOH and we booked flights to Beijing in March for two weeks! Will be asking for recs soon we’ve never been. ANYWAY! Took a nice walk around Otaru in the late afternoon. Felt pretty relaxed as it isn’t our first time here. It’s a really pretty city even though it’s very crowded with tourists - thanks to the movie ‘Love Letter’ (1996) which was filmed here. Had an early dinner at my fav soba place - YABUHAN SOBA. Did you know what the water used to boil the noodles in, ‘soba-yu’, is full of good nutrients and antioxidants? We’re served a pot of it at the end of the meal. I gulped it all down 🥹 Really surprised and proud of myself that I’ve got 4 days / posts down now. ❄️🇯🇵 DAY 3 of our 1-month snowboarding/winter road trip across Japan [Hokkaido + Honshu]! After a full night’s sleep (I could’ve slept longer tho) we decided it was time to get to work. Meaning get our shit together (attach bindings, adjust boots etc) and GET OURSELVES TO A MOUNTAIN! First stop: Kiroro Ski Resort! @kirororesort The biggest one in this area and a 40 minute drive from Otaru. Also the place where we lost our Insta360 camera last year 🫣 Had a fantastic time on the slopes despite the tree runs being closed (apparently due to lack of snow accumulation in those areas). Well Kiroro must be kinda jinxed for us because on the way down we got into a minor accident with the car 🥹 SO disappointed in those snow tyres 😂😂😂 Stopped by the local supermarket for snacks and also picked up collagen powder, protein powder, and magnesium supplements 🤓 By the time we got back to the hotel we were smashed. Great day 9/10 (minus 1 cos of the accident) #japanski #japanroadtrip #skijapan #kiroro

❄️🇯🇵 DAY 3 of our 1-month snowboarding/winter road trip across Japan [Hokkaido + Honshu]! After a full night’s sleep (I could’ve slept longer tho) we decided it was time to get to work. Meaning get our shit together (attach bindings, adjust boots etc) and GET OURSELVES TO A MOUNTAIN! First stop: Kiroro Ski Resort! @kirororesort The biggest one in this area and a 40 minute drive from Otaru. Also the place where we lost our Insta360 camera last year 🫣 Had a fantastic time on the slopes despite the tree runs being closed (apparently due to lack of snow accumulation in those areas). Well Kiroro must be kinda jinxed for us because on the way down we got into a minor accident with the car 🥹 SO disappointed in those snow tyres 😂😂😂 Stopped by the local supermarket for snacks and also picked up collagen powder, protein powder, and magnesium supplements 🤓 By the time we got back to the hotel we were smashed. We rented Toyota Roomy like before. This time we paid around €65 a day with full insurance. All winter rentals in Hokkaido come with snow tyres and that’s really all you need. Driving is pretty easy / straightforward. Made two stops: - Uniqlo for some essential winter items - A cute cafe at a park for breakfast and soup curry >> I must tell you that the best soup curry is at SOUP CURRY SYABAZO in Sapporo - save this info! ❄️ 🚗 🇯🇵 🏂 Super excited to be starting our month-long snowboarding road trip across Hokkaido and Honshu (Tohoku and Niigata/Nagano)! Last year we did the whole month in Hokkaido so this time it’ll be interesting to see some new resorts / explore a little more of Japan in winter. DAY 1 was our travel day! After a good three weeks in Malaysia catching up with friends, family, & food we flew @ana.japan to Tokyo and spent the night at Haneda before an inhumanely early connection to Chitose at 6am. It was funny how close to the check-in counters our hotel was though (see video) 😮‍💨 I consider this also Day 1 of me practising not overthinking / posting whatever I want; little visual diaries like it’s 2012. I thought that since I no longer depend on social media for income it would be easy but I feel like I’ve had a traumatic relationship with this app that still needs healing 🙃 So yeah anyway I’m going to be doing low-effort daily/almost daily dumps on here and on stories over the next 4 weeks just cos I want to. If you’re reading this and you know me personally PLS REMIND ME I need all the motivation I can get 😂 PS How cute is our lilac snowboard bag? €60 from Taobao - a steal! Spending Xmas week in the Italian Dolomites - our 4th time there - never gets old!! ❄️✨🎄 The most incredible landscapes, the best food, and sometimes cheesy but always fun après-ski parties. Vibrant pink and orange sunsets while gliding on the slopes. Having a Bombardino with friends on the way down. Having dinner at a warm and cosy ‘rifugio’ that’s only accessible by snowmobile. The whole experience is just magical! We love staying around Madonna Di Campiglio or Marilleva in the Trentino region 🙂
